Multiple Roles, One Focus

During my still ongoing pursuit of knowledge, I have encountered successively four different fields. Starting from computer science, followed by literature and anthropology, my current work involves the three from a philosophical perspective. Though the specialist areas vary, it seems to me that such borders of disciplines could be unnecessary and intriguing lines to play with.

I write critiques of art, essays about history, as well as proses for several national and local media, and meanwhile, I design websites, set up servers, and compose programs for enterprises, start-ups and individuals. I enjoy these multiple roles, which may contribute to others. Nonetheless, I am a student, an enthusiastic reader of old philosophers, sages and masters. The many roles of mine are my presentation, but the pursuit of knowledge fills my essence.

  • Endless Dialogue – a modification of the popular char-RNN text generator, which, as a work (of art?), satirizes the status quo of contemporary art, where artists are obsessed with quoting philosophers they didn't read and saying the words they didn't understand, and the insiders simply flatter everyone.
  • Widgets for – Unofficial widgests and tools for better experience when using, the largest Chinese website for books, music, and movies.

Here are some exemplary cases I have done in recent years.

Uber Shanghai

A highly customizable and interactive web page for sales activity. As a part of the client's marketing event, the web page underwent a pitch of several hundred thousand PV per minute with incredibly low cost.

Inter-Asia School

Based in Hong Kong, the client is an international academic organization, focusing on topics concerning art and society.

The client is one of the first crowd-funding service providers in China. I joined the initative team at its very early stage, implementing several fundamental functions for the site's backend.
